[Update: After the announcement made by Nintendo Europe, Nintendo of America has issued a press releasing confirming that Donkey Kong country Returns 3D will appear the same day (March 24th) on North American stores]
Following video game companies on twitter has become a must if you want the latest news delivered directly from the source and straight to you. Big name companies like Sony, Microsoft and Nintendo all use the popular social network to connect with their fans, tease upcoming news, make announcements, and even small reveals.
Following the trend, Nintendo Europe decided to use their official twitter account to announce the release dates for Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D and HarmoKnight.
Described as “the smash-hit Wii game is getting a portable 3D makeover,” Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D seems to be a port of the original Wii game. The portable iteration is being developed by Monster games and will be arriving to Europe on May 24th.
For its part, HarmoKnight is a rhythm platformer developed by Pokémon creators, Game Freak. In the game you’ll take control of a young boy named Tempo who is tasked to restored the order of planet Melodia after it has come under attack by the evil Noizoids. HarmoKnight will be available through the 3DS eShop starting March 28th; the same day as the previously confirmed North American release date.
The trailer below shows 2 minutes of HarmoKnights gameplay.
