Remember way back when the 3DS was first unveiled Nintendo announced they were working on a 3D version of Flipnote Studio? Well, almost two years have passed and Nintendo is finally ready to share some information about it.
Flipnote Studio 3D is the successor to Flipnote, a free DSi animation application, that let you create short flipbook-style animated videos. This time Flipnote Studio 3D comes pack with six different ink colors (instead of the original two) and, as the title implies, let’s you create your own 3D stereoscopic animations.
Announced through a ‘Nintendo Broadcast mini’ – which you can watch above – it was revealed that this new Nintendo 3DS app will be free to download and will arrive this summer to Japan. Given that the original Flipnote eventually appeared on all regions across the globe it is safe to assume will be hearing news about released dates for other territories soon.
