A few months ago, I made a list of my ten favorite characters in gaming. Since then I have bought and played dozens of video games introducing new characters (to me.) Below are my top five characters in video games.
Note; there are spoilers.
5. Miranda Lawson (Mass Effect)
A few weeks ago I bought the Mass Effect trilogy. I finished Mass Effect and started Mass Effect 2. The first thing I thought about the game once I completed it is how awesome Miranda Lawson was. The whole game she was a nice, supportive character. I was glad she didn’t die in the final mission for she is my favorite ME character.
4. Chrono (Chrono Trigger)
Months ago I visited my friend’s site and read his list of favorite games. I saw that Chrono Trigger was included; a game I had heard of before but never really paid attention to it. I immediately went to Google and researched the game (avoiding spoilers of course.) Well, days later I purchased it and played it nonstop. I found myself loving it. The main thing that impressed me in the game was the protagonist, Chrono. Though he never speaks in the game, his incredible bravery, his great story, and his amazing portrayal makes him one of my favorite video game characters of all time.
3. Rinoa Heartilly (Final Fantasy VIII)
Though many FF fans disliked it, I actually enjoyed playing Final Fantasy VIII. In fact, I consider it one of the best games in the series. Like Chrono Cross, one of the main things that impressed me was one of the protagonists. And the main thing I liked about the protagonist is the way she follows her heart in all situations.
2. John Marston (Red Dead Redemption)
Red Dead Redemption is one of my favorite video games of all time. It had an amazing plot, an incredible setting, and many unforgettable characters. Among these characters is John Marston, the protagonist of the game. His willingness to do anything to protect his family is why this character deserves a spot on this list.
1. Locke Cole (Final Fantasy VI)
Aside from Final Fantasy VI being my all time favorite game, it is also where my favorite video game character makes an appearance. In my opinion, Locke Cole’s personality is what makes him my favorite. He is shown to be a brave person, and it is revealed later in the game that he he has vowed himself to protect any woman after the death of his fiancée.
