Star Wars: First Assault Leaked Footage

Here’s something interesting that flew under my radar, for the past few days tidbits of information about an unannounced Star Wars game have been appearing around the web.

The name of the games is – as the title of this article pointed out – Star Wars: First Assault and is currently on development limbo due to Disney’s recent acquisition of Lucas Arts and the Star Wars property. That’s bad news indeed because what little has been shown ans shared about First Assault looks extremely promising.

According to reports this new Star Wars:First Assault game was intended to be a downloadable multiplayer shooter. From the look of the trailers below the game was shaping nicely with impressive graphics and expansive environments.

What do you think? Is Star Wars: First Assault something that could take the crown from Call of Duty and become the new king of online multiplayer?

    Is this suppose to be the new Battlefront, it looks good but I hope it still keeps some of the things that made the original two great. I think I need to play some Battlefront 2 when I get home. :)

      abradley101 According to Kotaku sources SW: First Assault was ‘meant to be a “predecessor” to Battlefront III’

        Daniel MorenoCamargo abradley101 I saw that too, and apparently if it sells well then they’ll get the green light for Battlefront 3 or something like that? And I agree, if they keep key elements from the first two then it’ll be fantastic :)

          aconnellan Daniel MorenoCamargo abradley101 Sell well! What business crap. Do they not know how many copies of the second game got sold. It was like one of the biggest sellers for the ps2 back in the day. I remember the buzz around Gamestation when I went in just after launch. Epic!

          abradley101 aconnellan Daniel MorenoCamargo Haha exactly! I remember picking up the second one on launch day, it was fantastic! I think they should just go ahead and make it anyway. I guess maybe they’re scared of the possible nerd-rage if they get one little thing wrong? If they waited this long and there’s something not in it that fans wanted then they’re going to crash and burn

          aconnellan abradley101 Daniel MorenoCamargo Possible but I think that most fans would be happy with a game that captures the majority of the features and atmosphere the original two had. If they wait too long they run the risk of a Duke Nukem/Aliens: Colonial Marines for sure but that’s why I want it out sooner rather then later.
